Parkgoers cleared because of taking shots at Six Flags Great America carnival in Gurnee, Illinois

The Gurnee Police Department verified to Insider that an incident was ongoing.

After rumours of a shooting, parkgoers were evacuated from Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, on Sunday.

Six Flags Great America reported in a statement to Insider that three individuals were injured when bullets were fired from a car in the parking lot, which subsequently departed the area.

Six Flags Over Georgia According to Great America, three persons were hurt during the shooting.

Two persons were sent to the hospital, and a third refused treatment.

Park security and cops from the on-site Gurnee Police Department Substation arrived quickly.

Two people were sent to the hospital for assessment by emergency personnel. "A third individual denied treatment," according to the statement.
